Congratulations! Prof. Ashis Kumar Nandi

An alumnus, elected as a Fellow of INSA (FNA).

Bose Institute Alumni Association (BIAA) is proud to report that Prof. Ashis Kumar Nandi, an alumnus of Bose Institute, was recently elected as a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (FNA). Prof. Nandi did his Ph.D. in the year 1998 while working at the Plant Molecular and Cellular Genetics (PMCG) laboratory of Prof. S.K. Sen. Currently, Prof. Nandi is working at the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), specializing in plant immunity and molecular plant pathology. His research focuses on the genetic and epigenetic regulation of plant immune responses, as well as development & retention of infection memory in plants, apart from elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying plant defense responses and host–pathogen interactions, with the aim of identifying key regulatory genes and signaling networks involved in disease resistance. Prof. Nandi’s work contributes to advancing strategies for developing resilient, disease-resistant crops and improving agricultural sustainability.

Earlier, Prof. Nandi was elected as a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences (FNASc), India, and also received various other prestigious awards/honours.

Official processing, development of comprehensive institutional bye-laws, and structured structural allocation for operational integrity within West Bengal regulatory guidelines.

Present Day — Exponential Acceleration

Currently servicing thousands of interconnected scholars globally across distinct industrial divisions, medical institutions, and world-class academic research zones.
